Probably Stolen chemistry recipes with temperatures, yields, purity targets and machine notes for Dream Dust, Nightmare Dust, caffeine and Phanta.
Probably Stolen Chemistry Recipes and Temperatures
Chemistry recipes in Probably Stolen are temperature puzzles disguised as shopping lists. The same reagents can become a valuable vial or a ruined slurry depending on how hot the mixture gets and how clean the finisher is. This page collects the recipes that are documented well enough to reproduce, with the temperature windows and yield notes that matter.
Values are community-tested on the 1.0 build and may change in patches. Where the game and community data disagree, both are listed. For the machine math, see the chemistry guide.

Before you cook
Three checks prevent most failed batches:
- Water and reagents are tested. Heavy metals in acid or base cannot be filtered out later.
- The Heating Plate can reach the target. A stock plate is fixed at 99°C; some recipes need 120–129°C.
- The Chem Finisher has modules. Contamination decides the purity tier and therefore the price.
A batch that misses the temperature window is usually not salvageable. Do not spend a rare reagent until the machine is ready.
Dream Dust
Dream Dust is the entry-level pharmaceutical. It uses Dream Cap mushrooms and alcohol.
| Step | Setting |
|---|---|
| Mush in alcohol | 40–49°C |
| Dream extract | Below 60°C |
| Finished volume | 2 mL per vial |
The critical warning is the mush step. The in-game manual describes a 40–60°C window, but community testing reports that anything above 50°C turns the mushroom into plant matter. Use 40–49°C. The extract step is more forgiving but still degrades above 60°C.
Dream Dust is a good first product because the input is cheap and the volume is small. It is also a good teacher: one overheated batch shows you why the plate matters.
Nightmare Dust
Nightmare Dust follows the same shape as Dream Dust but with a tighter temperature ceiling.
| Step | Setting |
|---|---|
| Nightmare Cap mush in alcohol | 40–49°C |
| Nightmare extract | Below 50°C |
| Finished volume | 4 mL per vial |
The extract ceiling is 50°C, not 60°C. That ten-degree difference is easy to miss and expensive to learn. If your plate overshoots, pull the batch early rather than trying to bring it back down.
Nightmare Dust sells for more than Dream Dust, but the margin depends on reagent cost. Check the current price before committing a large batch.
Caffeine Pills
Caffeine Pills are a volume product. The finished vial is 5 mL, which makes them a good use of cheap inputs and a bad use of expensive ones.
| Step | Setting |
|---|---|
| Extraction | Follow the recipe card |
| Finished volume | 5 mL per vial |
| Best use | High-turnover low-cost sales |
The exact temperature window for caffeine is not published in the community tables used for this page. Follow the in-game recipe card and keep the plate below the point where the solvent evaporates. If you are unsure, mark the batch as a test and sell only after checking purity.
Phanta Pills
Phanta is the high-temperature recipe. It requires a plate that can reach 110–130°C, which means at least one module.
| Step | Setting |
|---|---|
| Target temperature | 110–130°C |
| Recommended range | 120–129°C |
| Failure point | 130°C and above |
| Finished volume | 0.5 mL per vial |
Phanta's yield is tiny, so every fraction of a milliliter matters. The recipe also uses restricted precursors: two precursor chemicals plus a reducing agent. Those inputs are not available from the common supplier pack.
At 130°C the product decomposes. Stay at 120–129°C and do not chase the top of the range. A plate that fluctuates by ten degrees is a plate that will ruin a Phanta batch.
Nomore Injector
The Nomore Injector is a 4 mL product with a recipe that is tied to the game's story. This page does not reproduce the full recipe because it would spoil a narrative beat. The volume and the need for clean inputs are documented; the rest is best discovered in play.
Acid and base production
High-purity acid and base are inputs for other recipes, not consumer products. The workflow is:
- Buy the cleanest acid/base you can find.
- Test it with a Composition Spectrometer.
- Distill or process it according to the recipe card.
- Store it in a sealed container.
Heavy metals cannot be removed by a purification tablet or a pitcher filter. If the input is contaminated, the output is contaminated. This is the single most common reason a chemistry run stalls.
Temperature cheat sheet
| Ingredient or product | Safe range | Failure mode |
|---|---|---|
| Dream Cap mush | 40–49°C | Plant matter above 50°C |
| Dream extract | Below 60°C | Degrades above 60°C |
| Nightmare extract | Below 50°C | Degrades above 50°C |
| Alcohol | Below 78°C | Evaporates above 78°C |
| Lipobond | Below 55°C | Evaporates above 55°C |
| Phanta | 110–130°C | Decomposes at 130°C+ |
The plate's target temperature is not the same as the mixture temperature. Watch the product state and the recipe card, not just the number on the dial.
Record the input, temperature, module count, and final purity. After five batches you will know which recipe is actually profitable on your machine, not just on paper.
Purity and price
The finished product's purity tier determines the price modifier. The full table is in the chemistry guide. The short version: 99%+ is Lab Pure, 90–99% is Pharma, and everything below 80% loses a large part of its value.
A three-module Chem Finisher can reach 99% on a clean batch; a four-module finisher gives you margin. If you are selling at 88% and wondering why the price is low, the fix is a module, not a better sales pitch.
FAQ
What temperature should Dream Cap mush be? 40–49°C. The in-game manual says 40–60°C, but community testing reports plant matter above 50°C.
Why does my Phanta decompose? The plate reached 130°C or above. Keep it at 120–129°C.
Can I make Phanta without modules? No. The base plate is fixed at 99°C and cannot reach the required 110–130°C.
Do recipes change between patches? Yes. Temperatures, yields, and prices can change. Check the version in the page footer and re-test after a major patch.
